Student Safety Drill
As student and staff safety is always a priority, On Monday, March 11 students at NRAC will practice an ALICE drill. This drill will be initiated during a transition between classes so students can practice what they would do and where they would go in the event of an emergency situation. It is important that we practice emergency drills multiple times a year and include different scenarios so that students can empowered to navigate these types of situations. Please eel free to reach out if you have any questions.

B-WISER Science Camp for middle school girls
Attached, please find a flier and poster for The College of Wooster’s B-WISER Science Camp for middle school girls. Buckeye Women in Science, Engineering, and Research (B-WISER) is a non-profit that began in 1990 and is designed for girls who will be completing 7th or 8th grade. We prioritize making this opportunity affordable to any interested young woman; financial aid recipients pay just $150 for the week, including room and board.
Partnering with the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation, B-WISER camp provides hands-on experiences in physics, chemistry, geology, biology, and engineering. The residential program takes place on The College of Wooster campus from June 10-15, 2024. Please see our website for more information: https://bwiser.spaces.wooster.edu/.
Please post the attached poster for students and share this information with colleagues involved in 7th and 8th grade science/STEM education. We also ask that you consider including a notice in your school newsletter before the registration deadline on April 20. (I have included a JPG for emailing students and their families. For printing, please use the higher resolution PDF files.)
I appreciate your help in spreading the word about this special opportunity and encouraging the next generation of women scientists!
Sincerely,
