ASA G. HILLIARD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
I have never encountered any children in any group who are not geniuses. There is no mystery on how to teach them. The first thing you do is treat them like human beings and the second thing you do is love them. -Asa Hilliard
FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK
HI PANTHER FAMILIES ❤️
We are a few days away from the first day of spring and officially spring fever! We are all excited about the spring weather and all the fun things that come with it...well maybe except the extreme pollen. Please help us to keep our students focused during the season as the spring can bring on many distractions. During this season we want to keep the main thing, the main thing which is student success. The success comes in many forms including academics, behavior, and attendance. We will continue pushing our students towards academic excellence each day inside and outside of their classrooms through rich instruction. We continue to teach PAWS expectations in all spaces for behavior and be sure to ask your child about the 52 on 52 campaign for attendance!
I am so proud of the work we have done so far this year and I look forward to finishing out strong. Please let us know how to support you and if you need anything to make your experience better. Take care and happy spring!

Literacy Parent Units
As you know, parent involvement is vital to your child’s academic success, which is why I am so excited to introduce a new learning tool to help enhance what is being taught in the classroom. Over the course of the school year, we will be unveiling a series of parent units for you to complete so you are better able to help support early literacy development at home.
These self-paced experiences, called Parent Units, are no more than 20 minutes from start to finish to complete. In the units, an easy-to-replicate strategy is provided for you to use at home. Each Parent Unit will launch monthly one at a time and will focus on different topics. We are kicking off the series with Unit 1 focusing on Oral Language.
I encourage you to take the time to complete these fun learning units, which can be found at the bottom of our school’s website and on the district website https://www.fultonschools.org/parentunits. Plus, parents will have the opportunity to earn a certificate for completing each unit!
Thank you for sharing your student with us. We look forward to partnering with you to give them the best education Fulton County Schools has to offer.
