STUDENTS WALKING TO ORTHODONTIST APPOINTMENTS
ATTENDANCE REMINDER
Our school day begins at 8:15. Students will be marked tardy if they arrive after that time. Students will sign themselves in through the front office.
Students need to be signed out for early dismissal by someone on their approved list. Anyone signing out a student for dismissal must provide a photo ID.
NO early dismissal after 3:10 PM.
VOLUNTEER DRIVE
Have you been wondering how you can help your child’s school while also getting to know the students? DFMS is looking for volunteers to help relieve our teachers and provide them with more time for planning by covering some of their duties. We are looking for volunteers to cover duties such as car rider line, buses, and lunches.
You will be provided with training and support from the administration upon approval as a volunteer. We are flexible on the dates and times and appreciate any help you can provide.
To become a volunteer, contact Assistant Principal Reed Gunter (rgunter@lexrich5.org), and he will guide you through the process.
STUDENT SAFETY
CHECK YOUR EMAIL DAILY
SCHOOL SAFETY SPOTLIGHT
IDs: Please remind your student to wear their school-issued ID every day. Please make sure the ID has the current grade level, school year, name, and bar code. The picture should also be visible (i.e.no stickers over the face). This helps us quickly identify who belongs on our campus during the school day.
Parent Visitors: If you are planning on visiting the school during our instructional day, please bring your identification to begin the check-in process. In addition, be prepared to walk through our weapons detector system as part of our check-in procedures.
WEEKLY REMINDERS
Before you head to your next sporting event in School District Five, we would like to remind you of our event safety measures, including our student supervision guidelines for students in 8th grade or younger. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the graphic below about what we do to ensure event safety for students, staff, and the community. For more information on School District Five safety measures, visit: bit.ly/3qovz9f. See you at the games!

Chromebook Reminders
Recently, we have seen an increased number of students requiring Chromebook repairs, so I wanted to send out a few important reminders:
Chromebooks must be kept in the district-issued case at all times.
Failure to do so results in a disciplinary consequence.
Any damage incurred while a Chromebook is not in the case cannot be covered by the district, and will, therefore, be the financial responsibility of the family.
The student to whom the Chromebook has been issued is the only person permitted to sign in on that device.
Siblings may not log into the Chromebook of another sibling. Doing so prevents the proper functioning of programs associated with the individual student’s profile.
Students should not allow any other person to log into their Chromebook.
District internet filters are only applied when using District Five internet connections.
Parents/guardians should take precautions to filter and monitor home or public internet usage.
If you would like to read more, please view the District Issued Device Agreement and the Internet Acceptable Use Agreement, or contact our Digital Integration Specialist, Kelly Thacker at kthacker@lexrich5.org.
