Emily Bronte was an English novelist and poet. She was best known for her novel Wuthering Heights. Her mother died from Cancer at a very young age along with her sister. This caused her to become painfully shy ultimately leading her to write poetry. Her major influences were Nature and the beauty within a person.

The poem Shall Earth No More Inspire Thee speaks of loyalty friendship and love. This poem was inspired by the death of her mother and sister. She speaks in a dark fashion by relating how her strength works to push away her griefs. It is talking of her wish to have her family once again return to her. She is doubting herself and if she is fine without the comfort of family.
