Message from the Principal
Greetings Weaver Lake Families,
Thank you for your support during our Read-a-thon this month. PTO raised thousands of dollars and our scholars have been reading thousands of minutes. It's a win-win! Thank you also to the PTO for recognizing Bus Driver Appreciation Day on February 21st. Now would be a great time to review school bus safety guidelines and expectations. Please see below!
The Weaver Lake STEM staff is looking forward to seeing you at conferences in the next couple of weeks. We will have a showcase of our STEM scholars Tri II work up on the walls for you to admire! If you haven't scheduled or need help with scheduling your conference, please reach out to your teacher or the office. We are also here to answer any questions you might have!
With Warm Regards,
Lena Christiansen, Principal

STEM Questions
One of our STEM identities at Weaver Lake is to be a questioner. Students are asking questions all the time about what they're studying and what they're curious about. One way you can connect with your child about what they're learning in the value-added projects is to also be a questioner. At various times during a project, you will see "assignments" in SeeSaw that provide questions you can discuss with your child. These "assignments" don't need to be turned in, but are there to provide ways to start conversations. You can also find these questions HERE on Weaver Lake's website.
Family Lunch Sign Up 🍱
Fridays are a chance for parents to sign up to come eat with their child in the cafeteria. Space is limited and parents are encouraged to only sign up for one lunch per month. Please sign up HERE for additional information and to sign up for the grade level that your student is in. Due to other school activities, the last day for Family Friday lunch will be Friday, April 26th. Please bring your photo ID to check in at the Main Office.
Lost & Found 🧣
Lost and found items will again be on display during Winter Conferences. Items will be located in the hallway next to the Gym, across from the Main Office. Please take a moment to check out the lost and found area. Any lost and found items not claimed after Winter Conferences will be donated to a local charity.

Volunteer Coordinator Update
Greetings Weaver Lake Elementary Volunteers!
February saw a lot of volunteer opportunities. Thank you to the PTO and volunteers who organized and distributed gift bags for all of our wonderful bus and van drivers in celebration of Bus Driver Appreciation Day on February 21! A big shout out to all of the volunteers who helped make the Read-A-Thon prize distribution run smoothly as well! And we can’t forget to mention the volunteers who helped with grade level events, in the Media Center, or just with day-to-day tasks. You all have given over 800 hours of your time in the second trimester alone. That’s over 300 more hours than last year at this time! Our volunteers are the best!
The Spring Literati Book Fair is underway, and there’s still time to volunteer. Click the link for the sign-up and see where you can help out!
Be sure to watch your inbox in March for details about upcoming events such as:
- Field Trips
- Stuff the Food Truck Event
- Engineering Night
- Blue Blocks at recess
- And more!
If you have questions about volunteering or any of the upcoming opportunities, please contact me!
