Progress Reports - Important!
Please give careful consideration when you are filling in your progress reports at the end of each card marking period. A common misconception abounds that 'comments are optional'. What you offer in the comments box is your update of the actual progress on the goal, if you have checked "progressing". I encourage you to take the time to enter a summary of your progress monitoring data that supports the progress the student is making, even if it is slight. Think of this as an extension of your baseline data from your IEP. The data is what drives your decision to check "progressing" - please share it with parents in the comment box. Beyond being an integral piece of communication information, this is an area that is being increasingly monitored by the state. As we approach the first card marking period, take a few minutes to review the information you are choosing to include.
Para-pro support on a student?
Check: You should be completing a para-pro matrix each year at a student's IEP meeting to review student needs, and appropriate levels of support. This not only substantiates the assignment of time, but guides the team in determining exactly where to place para-pro support in a student's day. Forward the para-matrix to Kim with your finalized IEP documents starting immediately.
Medicaid - stay current!
Reminder to bill your Medicaid at the end of each week. We ended last month in a great place - slightly ahead of where we were last September. Please continue to forward questions as they arise.
Need a REED?
Check: You have already reviewed your caseload and know who is a re-eval at any point this school year. Use your 30 day calendar to count back to the date you need to pull that REED, and post a reminder to yourself in your outlook calendar. Helpful!
Easy FAX is live!
You will see the bar code at the bottom of your signature pages for documents. This allows Kim to scan in these signature documents, allowing them to represented in EdPlan and move with students should they move around the county. There is nothing for you to do at this time - just an awareness! Please don't cut them off.
