Important Health Reminders
Per the OES Handbook (p.6): Student Health Guidelines
Students should stay home when they have: Fever – greater than 100.4° F. Return to school 24 hours after fever has resolved without the use of fever reducing medication (Tylenol, Ibuprofen) Vomiting and/or diarrhea – Return 24 hours after the last occurrence.
Rash – with fever or that is open and draining.
Contagious Disease (“strep” throat, impetigo, scabies, ringworm, bacterial pink eye) - Return 24 hours after antibiotic treatment has started.
Nuisance Diseases (head lice) – If a child in the District is found to have head lice or untreated nits, school staff will notify the parent and recommend to pick up the student immediately and administer an FDA-approved lice treatment (e.g., pediculicide/ovicide). Students may return to the classroom after the appropriate use of an FDA-approved lice treatment (e.g., pediculicide/ovicide). After treatment (for 24 hours) and upon returning to school, the child will be examined by the school health staff, other designated staff members or principal. The District practices a policy of no live lice as a criterion for return to school. (NOSD Policy 8451 - PEDICULOSIS (HEAD LICE) If a child has a communicable disease/condition, the parent/guardian must notify the school office(nurse or secretary). After the child has been isolated or has received treatment for the necessary period of time (not less than 24 hours) they may return to school without any special permission from the health practitioner. In certain circumstances, the principal or designee, in consultation with the school nurse, may determine when a student who has been excused from school attendance may be readmitted.
Parking Lot Reminders from Principal Kucharski
- When you pull up to the curb at arrival & dismissal, please unload or load your student/s right there rather than moving up when there is an opening.
- Take caution when you or the student/s are opening car doors so as not to hit the vehicle next to you.
- Cross at the crosswalk with your student/s.
Thank you for your cooperation!

Can you help support the OES Dojo Store?
Students learn that positive behavior starts at a very young age and these positive behaviors carry through all areas of life. They start to realize that positive behaviors have a direct effect on their academics. At OES, it is our goal to help students recognize their positive behaviors and acknowledge them for doing what is right. Our students will be able to shop at our new school store with Dojo points they accumulate. The items listed in our Amazon Wishlist will be included in our new school store, and students will have a choice in this commerce system. Items will be added throughout the year.
Here is a list of desired items: Amazon Wish List for Dojo Store
Thank you for your continued support of our students and their success. -Principal Kucharski
If Your Child is Absent From School:
A parent or guardian must call 262-692-2401, Ext. 200, to report the reason of absence. Voicemail messages may be left 24 hours a day.
- For your child’s safety, non-reported absences will be followed up by a call home made by school office personnel.
Health Concerns/Medication Updates/Immunizations
Any health or medication changes contact the OES Office. If medication will be administered at school you must fill out an Authorization for Prescription Medication Form. Remember to get a physician signature on that form. It is required before any medication can be dispersed. If your child would be taking over the counter medicine such as Ibuprofen, Tylenol, etc please fill out the Over the Counter Authorization form. The form and medicine can be dropped of in the OES office. Remember it must be in its original container. Refer to the link on the bottom of this SMORE - District Nurse Information - for immunization requirements and medication forms.
*Instructions & Reminders from Riteway Bus Company:
Students follow seating charts: younger students sit in the front; siblings usually sit together; students are arranged according to bus stops
- **Be on time for bus pick-up...buses are running a tight schedule. If your child misses the bus, the bus must complete its run and drop-off all other students at school. Call the bus company at 262-375-3102 and they will advise you if a bus is able to come back for your child or if you need to provide transportation. If this happens frequently, you will be contacted by the bus company.
- **There will not be bus passes issued for students to ride another route or get dropped off at another stop. Students are routed for one stop in the PM.
All of these instructions to help to keep our students safe and to help the buses to run efficiently.
**Email Alerts for PM Bus Routes**
OES will email (rather than the REMIND app) to contact parents/guardians when busses depart from the NOSD campus after 4 pm (Wednesdays after 3:10).
Early Pick-Up & Late Drop-Off Procedures:
Please notify us if your child will be arriving late to school or you are picking up early.
You may come in our lobby and sign your child in. If your child is old enough to get in the doors by themselves, notify us the same way and we can help them sign in.
If you are picking up early - you can sign your child out in the lobby. We can make sure your child is here waiting or call for them if need be. Please remember to park in the parking lot and come in to the OES Lobby. Please do not park in the drop-off zone in front of school.
