Community Update: Week of Jan 16th
Sharing information for the Wootton High School Community
The Start of Semester 2
The first day of the second semester is Monday, January 30, 2023. Students and parents will be able to see their Semester B schedule beginning Monday, January 23, 2023 via StudentVue/ParentVue in Synergy. As with any new schedule, please be sure to evaluate the schedule to determine it is accurate. If you notice any errors in the schedule, we ask that you contact your child's counselor to make necessary changes. Wootton cannot honor requests for specific teacher changes or changes in periods.
You may request a schedule change for one of the following reasons:
The scheduled course is incorrect from what was requested at the beginning of the school year. Your student's schedule is considered correct if an approved alternate class was used when the primary class could not be scheduled.
The schedule is incomplete. For example, there is a missing class period (most students should have seven classes listed), or two courses are listed in the same period. Students who have a missing class should report to Counseling Services during that missing period to have it resolved.
A credit was earned in the listed class this summer and you no longer will take the course.
You would like to reconsider the level of class that you initially requested. Please note that schedule changes for level reconsideration will only be made based on space and availability.
Please note that we continue to balance classes until the day before the new semester starts, which may cause some teacher assignment/period changes. Your child should always follow the schedule that appears in StudentVue.
If you have any further questions for your child's counselor, please be sure to reach out.
Sincerely,
Douglas Nelson, principal
