April 17, 2024 - NEWSLETTER
Lighthouse families,
Spring is a season of field trips, assessments, and special events at Lighthouse. We started our MCA testing schedule this week. Thanks again, to all of you, for supporting your students through this testing season.
We are looking forward to this week’s opening of the high school musical, “Beauty and Beast.” Coming up, we have our Lighthouse Talent Show and our field trip to Feed My Starving Children! See the upcoming events section of this newsletter for more family fun.
It’s hard to believe we have less than two months remaining in this school year. This time of year always goes fast! I hope that our students remain focused on doing their best to accomplish their learning goals and continue having fun with their peers here at school! It brings me great pride to see all of the learning occurring here each and every day.
Have a great week!
With Gratitude,
Lisa Cisewski
Coordinator of Lighthouse School
Spring Lake Park Schools

Next Possip Pulse Check: Coming April 18
Our next Possip pulse check is coming your way Thursday, April 18. Once again this month, you will receive a text message and email with a few simple questions asking for feedback on your experience with school. Watch for the messages from Possip and make sure to reply - in your preferred language - to the brief survey and help keep us updated on your experience. It is helpful when people share contact information for any follow up and you may also choose to remain anonymous. Thank you!
Are you sometimes getting duplicate email messages?
Some families have let us know that they have received duplicate emails for specific one-time communications. Please know this is not intentional. Our service provider is aware of this sporadic issue and is working toward a resolution. In the meantime, thank you for your patience and understanding.

St. Cloud State University Math Contest
Congratulations to the SLPHS Math team for placing 3rd in the 10th grade math contest at St. Cloud State University last week. Team member (and Lighthouse School student) Sam K. also finished in 1st place among all 10th graders! Great job, Sam!
Great Work Lillian!
"The Westwood Band program is proud to have Lillian M., Flutist, be represented at this past weekend’s Minnesota Band Director’s Association 6th – 8th grade Honor Band Festival/Concert! Lillian auditioned by submitting recordings of very challenging audition music in the fall of 2023. She was selected in February 2024, from the many flutists who auditioned across the entire state of Minnesota. Lillian and the honor band rehearsed both Saturday and Sunday, April 13 and 14, 2024, under the direction of guest conductor Mickey Smith Jr., from The King’s Academy in West Palm Beach, Florida. The honor band performed a concert Sunday afternoon for friends, family, and supporters. We are so proud of Lillian’s musical accomplishments!"
-Dr. Matthew Marsolek and Julie Seiler, Westwood Band Directors
