Teacher Appreciation Week!
We are appreciative of our teachers/staff every day of every week, but this week for National Teacher Appreciation Week we hope to show them they are heartbeat of BHS!!! Thank you to our PTSO, CARE team and central office for helping us provide meals, goodie bags and treats to our amazing staff.
Upcoming Events
- Our annual Powderpuff Football game will be on Friday, May 31st at 6pm. If you are interested, please sign up by Friday, May 10th at 3pm! There will be a $5 entry fee to cover the cost of your T-shirt. Money is due to Mrs. Crain by May 17th.
- MCJROTC will require sports physicals for next school year. The next upcoming date to get a free sports physical is Wednesday, May 22 at Brevard High School.
- MCJROTC will host a pancake breakfast on May 11 in the Brevard High old gym. The time for this breakfast is 8:00 am - 10:00 am. This is a donation only event and is open to all of Transylvania County residents.
- Attention 11th graders: A second dose of Meningococcal Vaccine is required by NC Law for all incoming 12th grade students and should be received prior to school starting in August.
- Colorguard Audtions will be on May 14 and May 15 in the BHS cafeteria afterschool.
- VOS is sponsoring the We Care for You Project. Help us create care packages for youth in foster care here in Transylvania County. We are seeking donations for hygiene products, blankets, water bottles, journals, writing and art supplies, washcloths, bath towels, twin bedding, socks, toys and backpacks. Please bring in new items, and donate them in the boxes around the school. Thanks so much for helping!
- Tickets are now on sale for this year's spring musical, "Beauty and the Beast." You can purchase the tickets by scanning the QR code on the poster or at bit.ly/BHSmusical2024 Come and join us May 10th at 7pm, May 11th at 2pm, and May 12th at 2pm for a show full of music, dancing, and enchantment!

Free Athletic/ROTC Physicals Coming up on May 22 at BHS
We're excited to announce that we'll be hosting FREE athletic physicals at Brevard High School on May 22nd, starting at 1pm!
It's essential to note that an athletic physical is required for any student wishing to participate in our athletic teams here at Brevard High School. Don't miss this opportunity to get your physical done conveniently and at no cost!
You can pick up the required papers from the high school office, or for your convenience, you can print them directly from our athletics website.
In addition to this exciting news, we want to share that Transylvania County Schools is transitioning its sports registration platform to DragonFly. DragonFly offers a more user-friendly experience and comes with many other useful features to streamline the registration process.

Counseling Corner
- Morehead Cain Scholarship: It is that time of year when our school can nominate rising seniors (current juniors) for the Morehead-Cain Scholarship for UNC Chapel Hill (a full ride)! Our school may endorse 2 seniors for the Morehead-Cain Scholarship. If interested in receiving the school-based nomination, please complete the school-based scholarship application by Wednesday, May 8th, and send it to your counselor. - Please have your senior students fill out this Senior Awards Information Form. - FAFSA Submission Summary: Encourage students to log onto their studentaid.gov account to check their FAFSA status. They should also watch for their FAFSA submission email later this month. Here are six things your students should be checking on their summaries.
