Central Dauphin High School
September Newsletter
Principal Message
In connections, we are taking the time to explain school wide behavioral expectations, discuss school wide procedures, implement our new hall pass system, and complete a school wide hand mural activity.
Additionally, each class had their class meeting where the grade level principal, counselor, and nurse all explained rules and expectations for the school year.
Please keep in mind several reminders as we head into September:
- School begins at 7:40 a.m. All students must be in their first period class by 7:40 a.m. Please know if your student is dropped off or drives to school that they should expect traffic delays in the morning and leave a little early.
- Central Dauphin High School will be open at 7:00 a.m. daily.
- Please make sure your student(s) charges their Chromebook and brings it to school daily.
Overall, we are extremely excited for what the 2022-2023 school year will bring us. In this monthly newsletter, we will be keeping you up to date with some of the big things that are happening this school year.

PHEAA Financial Aid Night
Your child’s high school education is nearing completion. The last few years have certainly been challenging and rewarding as your student progressed academically and personally towards graduation day.
For many families, higher education is the next step of their journey. But with the stresses of the college application process and trying to figure out financial aid, you and your student are most likely beginning to feel a little overwhelmed.
Fortunately, help is available. In cooperation with the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA), we will be hosting a free Financial Aid Night for students and families on September 13th at 6:30 p.m. in CDHS Auditorium.
Participants will learn how to apply for all types of financial aid, including completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is required to determine eligibility for most student aid programs such as the Pennsylvania State Grant, Federal Pell Grant, institutional awards, and federal student and parent loans.
Participants will also be briefed on Pennsylvania-specific aid programs, as well as the importance of minimizing student loan debt and applying for grants and scholarships to help pay for education costs.
A student aid expert from PHEAA will be available to provide information and answer questions.
Back to School Night
Note: Back to School Night is not conferences. If you would like to schedule a time to discuss your student's performance, please reach out to your student's grade level principal and/or school counselor and you can schedule an opportunity to meet with the teacher.
