Middle School Spring Play
On April 26th and 27th, the middle school drama class students had a spring play. This year, drama is an elective class for middle school students where they learn to act. The result of this new class is our first middle school spring play. The play was called Good Cop Bad Cop by Ian McWethy. This play features two detectives who are trying to figure out who swapped the street signs. They interrogate various people such as the high school mascot and a guy who may be Super Mario. The cast and crew of this play practiced almost every day during seventh period. This comedic play was a joy for all of those who attended.

College Road Trip
On Monday, April 23rd, Mrs. Ashley Cook and Coach Will Johnson took students from Piedmont’s high school, and they traveled south in Georgia. The trip went through Wednesday, April 25th, and it consisted of five different colleges. The first day, the group went to Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) in Tifton, Georgia and Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia. The second day, they went to the College of Coastal Georgia in Brunswick, Georgia and Georgia Southern’s Armstrong campus in Savannah, Georgia. The third and final day, the students and teachers went to Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia. Morgan Whitley, a sophomore who went to the college road trip, said, “It was a lot of fun! We got to see some really pretty schools, and it helped me decide the type of college I am looking for in the near future!” Ezra King, a sophomore, liked Georgia Southern University the most, and Sydney Stroud, a freshman, was drawn towards the College of Coastal Georgia. Other than touring schools, the group shopped on River Street, ate at the Pirate House in Savannah, and went on the Savannah Ghost Tour!

Middle School Savannah Trip
At Piedmont, our middle school went on a trip to Savannah, Georgia to learn
about its great history. The first thing they visited was an Eco-cruise where they learned about the ecosystem of Savannah. After that, they visited PinPoint, Georgia and looked around. Then they visited Old Fort Jackson and learned about the Civil War. They then visited River Street and looked at the Waving Girl Statue. After that, they visited the Massie Heritage Center and learned about one of our oldest schools in Georgia. Then they toured Byrd’s Cookie Company and learned about how the cookies were made. Finally they loaded up the bus and headed for Piedmont, but first, they stopped at the Mighty Eighth History Museum and marveled at the planes and stories.
