JD Griggs

JD Griggs signed his contract with Jaguars after participating with the club during rookie minicamp on a tryout basis ... Two-year letterman at Akron … As a senior, started all 12 games at DE and recorded 41 tackles (30 solo), 11 tackles for a loss, six sacks, three pass breakups and one INT … As a junior, played in all 12 games at DE and made seven stars … Totaled 28 tackles (14 solo) and ranked second on the team with five tackles for a loss … Transferred to Akron from Nassau (N.Y.) Community College where he tallied 50 tackles, 18 tackles for a loss and eight sacks … Finished 11-0 and ranked No. 4 for JUCO nationally … Named All-Northeast Conference … Attended Piscataway (N.J.) High School with third-round draft selection, Dwayne Gratz, where he led the team to an 11-1 record and second in the state … Earned All-State and All-Area in both football and basketball. JD played in the Canadian football league also with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He is a professional model, a personal trainer and a motivational speaker.

Janet Reynolds


A former dancer for the NBA Nets, Janet began as a youth football, high school and collegiate cheerleader. Janet Reynolds is a classically trained ballet dancer, who enjoys mentoring young ladies on the discipline of dance.

Janet’s leadership skills are enhanced by extensive non-profit leadership experience. She is Director of the mentoring program for Minority Athletes Networking Etc. Inc. An organization founded by NFL NY GIANTS players George Martin & Harry Carson. Minority Athletes Networking also known as MAN is comprised of professional athletes & professionals working towards making a difference in the lives of inner city youth. Janet is the former dance ministry leader at The Cathedral International where Bishop Donald Hilliard Jr. is the lead pastor. Janet continues to mentors 100’s of young ladies at The Cathedral and within numerous communities. Janet is founder of Smart Choice Young Ladies also known as S.C.Y Ladies. She is consistently establishing influential networks and partnerships with community and civic leaders.

LEONTE CARROO

After years of playing as a Plainfield Viking Leonte Carroo took a step of faith to play in the number one High School Football program in the Nation which is Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, New Jersey. At Don Bosco Prep Leonte Carroo helped lead his team to two National Championships and an impressive record of 48-0 never losing a game in High School and winning 4 consecutive State Championships. While at Don Bosco Prep he was a U.S. Army All-American, and a two time All State Football player and a three time All Berger County Football player. After receiving a monumental 30 college scholarships from schools such as Ohio State, Florida State, Cal University, Wisconsin and the University of Miami Leonte decided to take the local route and stay in New Jersey playing for his hometown football team, Rutgers University

Muhammad Wilkerson is an American football defensive end for the New York Jets of the National Football League. Wilkerson was drafted by the New York Jets in the first round, 30th overall pick of the 2011 NFL Draft.

Honored Guest Mayor Adrian O. Mapp

Adrian Mapp served until recently as Councilman for the 3rd Ward in the City of Plainfield; he resigned from the council on December 20, 2013 to prepare for assuming the reins as Mayor of Plainfield, New Jersey where he has resided for over 34 years. He has been married to his childhood sweetheart, Amelia, nee Morris, for over 33 years; together they are the proud parents of two beautiful daughters, Shermona who graduated from the Pingry School in 1999 and Ayisha who graduated from Wardlaw-Hartridge in 2006; they both attended Howard University.

Mayor Mapp holds an M.B.A. in International Business from Fairleigh-Dickinson University, a B.S. in Accounting from Rutgers University, and an A.A. in Public Administration from Union County College. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Certified Municipal Finance Officer (C.M.F.O.) and a Qualified Purchasing Agent (QPA).
