KVA Students STAAR Testing
All state testing will take place on campus. Please review the calendar above for specific dates. We look forward to seeing our virtual learners in person.
Arrival: SLJH will open the building for students to find testing rooms at 8:30AM. There will be many staff members available to help students find testing locations. Testing room numbers will be communicated with students prior to testing days. Bus services are available to KVA students on testing days, if eligible for bus transportation.
Items to bring:
- All students will abide by the Katy ISD COVID 19 protocols and must wear a face covering.
- We ask that our KVA students have a current or school ID from the previous year.. Student IDs can be printed off by going here: http://www.katyisd.org/dept/technology/PTH/Pages/Student-ID-Badge-Application.aspx.
- Students may bring a lunch from home or be provided one by the cafeteria.
- Students may bring a dry snack and water, as lunch may be later than normal. Nuts, and messy snacks such as Cheetos and strawberries are not allowed.
- Students may bring pencils and highlighters, but will be provided one if needed.
- Electronic devices may come to school with students, but must be turned off and put away during the test window.
- Students may bring a book to read after testing.
After the STAAR Test: When the testing window is over at about 1:15, KVA students will be escorted to an alternative location and parents may pick up their KVA student at that time. Parents may drive through the car rider line in the front of the building to pick up their student. Remember that parents must have an ID if they plan to check their student out.
If your students is a walker, bus rider, or bike rider, he/she will remain at school until the end of the school day and be dismissed at 4:05 p.m.
