What is happening for children, youth, and families at OUUC

Support the Olympia Free Clinic through our Supply Drive

The kids are doing their spring service project right now, which this year they chose to focus on Healthcare. When we reached out to the Olympia Free Clinic they suggested the kids could collect snacks and drinks for the clinic volunteers, many of whom come straight from work to work a volunteer shift.

By Sunday June 2nd:

  • Snack donations for volunteers at the Olympia Free Clinic:
  • Individually wrapped non-perishable snacks, such as:
  • granola bars
  • crackers
  • cookies
  • sparkling waters

Look for our collection bins in the Commons and the RE Entry Hallway!

Sunday and Every Day: Taking It Home

We continued the spring service project last Sunday, learned about Dorothea Dix, and packed first aid care kits to be donated (through EGYHOP) to help our homeless neighbors.

Discuss it at home:

1. What is "medicine" anyway? How do we take good care of people in our society, and how are we failing to take care of one another?

2. Our 1st Unitarian Universalist Principle is 'The Inherent Worth and Dignity of All People". How does that Principle relate to the topic of medicine and health care?

Faith in Action:

Gather up some supplies for the children's supply drive! They will be building little 1st Aid and Oral Hygiene Kits, and also are collecting snacks to donate to the Olympia Free Clinic to help feed hungry volunteers there.

Not registered yet for this year's RE programs? It only takes a couple minutes!

If you have not already done so, please take some time this week to complete the registration form for the new program year.
