Can't Hide Our Wildcat Pride

Wildcat families,

It has been a great month at Glanton-Hindsman Elementary School as we celebrate the accomplishments of our students. This month, we implemented a new way to recognize our students in the cafeteria who are constantly exhibiting great behavior. Students can earn both individual and class rewards during lunch. Each week, classes earn tickets for doing a great job while eating. At the end of the week, the class with the most tickets for their grade level receives popsicles. Students who are being models can earn tokens that they can exchange for an ice cream.

Outside of the cafeteria, we are celebrating our academics, growth, character, and behavior. This week, students in grades 1st-5th are taking the STAR Reading and Math test, celebrating their progress for the growth they have made since we took it in August, and setting new goals for when they take it again in December. We encourage you to talk with your children about where they are and where they are going and help them to develop a plan to get there. Goal setting is one of our priorities because it teaches students a number of positive characteristics such as perseverance and focus.

Thank you for all you do with your children at home to benefit their education. If you have any questions about what you can be doing to help your child at home, please contact your child’s teacher.

Thank you,

Joseph Grainger

Principal

We also kept track of the total number of words our students read in the month of August and rewarded the top class in each grade level with ice cream. Students can contribute to their class word count by reading and passing AR quizzes.
