Wrapping up the first semester

We would like to thank all of you for the many holiday greetings, goodies, and gifts prior to Christmas break. We were sad to end our first semester so abruptly and realize the kids were too. Individual teachers will communicate to parents directly on how they plan to bring closure to the first semester. South Elementary will be aligning with the district and will send out report cards on January 15th. We look forward to seeing everyone again on January 4th!

2015 Highlight Reel-What a fun first semester!

When we return from break, we will update our growth and assess our progress toward our reading, math and writing goals.

Below is our progress toward our math fact mastery goal and our attendance goal.

Goal : All students will master their math facts

We are making some great progress, but would love to see each of these up near 100% by March.

  2. Subtraction- 81%
  3. Multiplication- 44%
  4. Division- 16%

Danville Community Education Foundation

We would like to take a moment to thank the volunteers who serve on the Danville Community Education Foundation. The funds raised during the year go directly back into the classroom and to scholarships for graduating seniors.

This year's grant recipients from South Elementary were; Librarian Renee Bowman, Third Grade representative Tammy McDugle, and Third Grade Representative (not shown) Kaleigh Branchick.

The grants for South Elementary totaled $1,509.25 and the grants for the district totaled $9,475.00. These grants are possible through the support of our DCEF fundraisers and through individual donations. If you would like to donate, additional donations may be sent to the Danville Community Education Foundation at 200 Warrior Way, Danville.
