What's Happening at McKinley
Great CA Shake Out Drill
This past Thursday McKinley participated in the statewide earthquake drill. All emergency centers were activated, and students and staff practiced what to do in the case of an earthquake.
A reminder that emergency maps and procedures can be found at our website.
Halloween Costume Parade
This Friday at 9:00am is the annual Halloween Costume Parade on the big yard. Parking is available on the playground starting at 8:30am. The event will kick off with a performance from the 4th/5th grade Dance Team. Then classes will walk around the track in their costumes. A reminder that costumes should be age appropriate, not overly scary/gory, and toy-weapons are not permitted. Come join us for some Halloween fun!
Harvest Festival
The annual McKinley Harvest Festival is this Friday from 4-6pm on the big yard. There will be a Trunk-or-Treat, dance area, and Haunted House in the auditorium. Parking permit restrictions in the neighborhood have been lifted for this event; meter and street cleaning restrictions still apply. The event is $5 per person; tickets are available for pre-purchase at the PTA website, and are for sale at the event. Families may bring food to picnic on the grass field. Costumes encouraged. We look forward to seeing you Friday!
