Ringgold Middle School and Early College Students Received Free Bestselling Books

Our students received free bestselling books donated by Starr Readers of Dallas, Texas. Karen Furlong, who has family roots in Rio Grande City, is the founder of Starr Readers, a nonprofit organization that raises funds to purchase books for Starr County students. We are extremely grateful to Ms. Furlong for giving RGCCISD students her gift of reading for the past eleven years.

Partnering with South Texas College

Ms. Terry Rosales, STC librarian visited our library to provide ECHS dual enrollment students a library orientation. This is a collaborative effort to provide students skills needed to find, retrieve, analyze and use information more effectively.

Our visit to the RGC Public Library

ECHS students visited the city public library for an orientation. The librarian, Mrs. Norma Fultz, presented on great resources, activities and upcoming events that are available to them and the public. Upon leaving, students received a free book and teachers got their own library cards. Visit our city library at http://www.rgclibrary.org/ for many online services!
