Samothraki sits alone in the Northeastern Aegean, halfway between the mainland port of Alexandroupoli and Limnos. This lush, forested island boasts one of the most important archaeological sites in Greece: the ancient Thracian Sanctuary of the Great Gods. Also here stands the Aegean’s loftiest peak, Mt Fengari (1611m), from where Homer recounts that Poseidon, god of the sea, watched the Trojan War unfold.

Another important aspect of this island is that here was the place of gathering of a very important spiritual mystery. The Cavirian Mysteries (similar to the Eleusinian Mysteries). In these mysteries, people who were ready would be initiated into the esoteric path from the priests and mystics.

Samothraki’s mountainous interior, filled with massive gnarled oak and plane trees, is ideal for hiking and mountain biking, and the island’s waterfalls, plunging into deep, glassy pools, provide cool relief on hot summer days. Remote southeastern beaches are pristine, while the north offers hot baths at Loutra (Therma). Inland from the main fishing port of sleepy Kamariotissa lies the former capital, Hora, bursting with flowers and handsome homes, all overlooking the distant sea.

The island’s remoteness means that it’s often forgotten by island hoppers, but devotees of ancient archaeology, unique cuisine, and superb hiking will find it worth the effort to get here!!

The island is a uniquely energetic and spiritual place where from ancient times greek priests, kings, and other important persons were gathering for initiations and finding their path in life. The island has kept its wild and unique energetic structure through the ages and it will be available for us to discover it and experience the Spirit of the island.
We will do special hikes in places of power like Fonias, Gria Vathra, Paradisos (paradise), Kipoi, Palaiopolis, and many more.
There exist natural ponds inside the mountain which govern the center of this island.
We will swim, meditate in the Aegean Sea, and explore the spirit around the archeological site of the Sanctuary of the Great Gods. Here is a very ancient Greek spiritual site where many famous people around the world were gathering to celebrate the Cabiri (or Cabirian) Mysteries. It is also the place where the statue of the Victory of Samothraki (now at the Louvre, in Paris) was found.
Our purpose is to discover the spirit of ancient myths and awaken the power of the Greek mysteries.

Detailed Program

Our Trip will start From Thessaloniki City. (But You can also arrive directly at Alexandroupoli Harbor at the latest 2 hours before our ferryboat departure on Saturday - August 5)

You will need to arrive at the city of Thessaloniki, preferably on August 4
We will travel by car to Alexandroupoli on August 5, taking the Ferry boat to Samothraki Island. Below is a more detailed program: Bear in mind, though, that such a Trip cannot be programmed precisely, and when we are there, it is possible to change the root and time of our activities or the activities themselves. It is a Trip of Discovery of the Island, Ancient Myths, beautiful nature, and Ourselves!

Saturday, August 5

* 9:00 Starting point Thessaloniki city – Greece (for the people who will be traveling via the city of Thessaloniki)

14:30 arrival in Alexandroupoli (Here is the actual meeting and starting point where we will have to be, not later than 2 hours before the departure of the Ferry boat (earlier is better to not have surprises).

16:00-18:00 trip with the ferry boat (The time for the Ferry boat as is now posted on the ferry boat company site - but it is the same every year until now)

18:00-19:00 arrival at our hotel.

19:00 – 20:00 trip to the town

20:00 – 21:00 dinner

21:00 – 23:00 walk in the city – meditation discussion about the purpose of the seminar

Sunday, August 6

17:00 - 19:00 Visiting the area Kipos - swimming and merging with nature

19:00 - 21:00 Visiting the city for a walk and meditation

21:00 - 23:00 Meditation in the cosmic consciousness in the garden of our hotel

Thursday, August 10

8:00 - Wake up

10:30 – 15:00 Visiting & Exploring the nature and the pools of Samothraki (visiting new pools or the Kipos beach)

17:00 -19:00 - preparation & arrival to the Samothraki Harbor to make our trip back

19:00 - 20:50 Trip with the Ferry back to Alexandroupoli

Just 30 m from the beach, our apartments are located in Therma of Samothraki. They offer self-catered accommodation with air conditioning. Free Wi-Fi is available in all areas. Free shuttle service is provided.

Featuring views to the Aegean Sea, the mountain and the garden, all studios and apartments are tastefully furnished and decorated. Each has a well-equipped kitchenette with cooking hobs and a dining table. A TV is included.

A spacious garden offering umbrellas and outdoor furniture surrounds the property. Guests are welcome to use the BBQ facilities.

The village of Therma is at a distance of 3.5 km. The port of Samothraki is 17 km away. Free private parking is possible at a location nearby.
