Romeo-Character Connection

People should not base love on someones family or place.

Act 1 Scene 5

Romeo to Juliet. He is trying to explain how their hands are like lips that sin.

"' Then have my lips the sin that they took.' 'Sin from my lips? O trespass sweetly urged; Give memy sin again. ( Shakespeare pg 1016)

This relates to the theme Even though Romeo and Juliet are from rival families in Verona. They look pass this because their love is able to look over the one flaw.

Act 2 Scene 1

Juliet is talking to Romeo, because she wanted Romeo to come visit her at her home. She didn't know that he was listening to her. "'(Shakespeare 1023) O Romeo, Romeo! Where art thou Romeo?' ' shall I hear more, or shall I speak at this?'" This ties back to the theme by the way Juliet is at her home where her parents are. Romeo goes to see her at his families rivals house. He is not scarred to get caught by the guard.

Act 5 Scene 3

"'The drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss I die.'"(Shakespeare 1097) This is what Romeo said to Juliet's 'dead' body. Showing how much he loves her an dhow he will love just as much in the next life. This shows how Romeo loves Juliet so much he broke into their tomb and died next to her body. The way he thought they should be.

Theme Act 5 Scene 3

"But I can give thee more; For I will raise her statue in pure gold.' 'As rich shall Romeo's by his lady's life.'"(Shakespeare 1102) This was said by Lord Capulet, Montague to Themselves and to the prince. This shows how their family feud is over. It only took the death of their kids.
