9:45 - 11:30 - Science Safety 101: Addressing the Low Hanging Fruit with Dr. Neil Heckman
- Update your chemical safety and storage to the new system and standards - Safety doesn't have to be expensive! Everything we will learn will either be free or inexpensive. We will discuss the free training that is offered by Flinn Scientific online, the new GHS chemical labeling system, electrical safety, chemical storage, chemical labels, where to ask for help, personal protective equipment, SDS sheets, inventories, chemical hygiene officers, chemical hygiene plans, and a checklist of things that need to be done every month, quarter, or annually. We will focus on specific action items that will improve the safety for you and your students.
