Cafeteria Help

With our cafeterias split between two locations to allow for more social distrancing, the first couple of weeks will be a learning curve for our staff and students. We would love to have any parent volunteers to come in and help the first two weeks of school.

If you are available and willing to help, please sign-up below. We will have two-time slots a day: 10:40-11:40, and 11:40-12:40. We still have some available open times!!!!

Supply Lists

Don’t forget to check out the supply lists for the upcoming school year. There are lots of deals out there and I know many are eager to get supplies bought now. Follow the link below to see our district-wide list.

Being new to a school can be filled with anxiety and questions. We want to make transitioning to a new school comfortable for not only students but parents as well. Please join us for an orientation to Millburn Elementary. We will give you some information about the school and you will be able to take a tour of the building. This is designed for all families members to attend.

New Teachers to Millburn Elementary

We have some new faces joining our teaching staff this year. Please help us in welcoming our new teachers to our Millburn community!!

If you are missing a physical for your child, please make sure to schedule it before the start of the school year. Once school begins, it will be hard to find time to schedule an appointment.

Supply Drop Off Night

Supply Drop-Off Night is not only a time to drop materials off in the classrooms, but an opportunity for students and families to navigate the hallways and meet the teachers prior to the first day of school. Traditional we have done this the night before school starting and families come anytime between certain hours.

With COVID still in our world, we need to adjust how we approach this night. We will do our best to continue to have this night, but we need to plan out how it will look and designate certain times for families to come in to alleviate big crowds. Once we come up with a plan, we will let you know.

Both buildings are currently looking to hire paraprofessionals. Here is a quick summary:

  • Hours that align with school hours.
  • Individual Health, Dental and Vision Benefits fully covered.
  • Hourly rate starts at $12.43

Former Millburn Student Heading to Tokyo

Former Millburn Student Keegan Knott will be participating in the Paralympics next month. She will be the youngest member of the swim team representing the United States in the Paralympic Games in Tokyo, Japan. The games will be held between August 24 and September 5, featuring about 4,400 athletes from an estimated 100 countries.

Knott is one of 11 first-time Paralympians on the team. Although this is her first Paralympic appearance, she has been competitively swimming since she was seven and joined U.S. Paralympics Swimming when she was nine. Knott lives in Lake Villa, IL, and primarily trains at RecPlex in Pleasant Prairie, WI. Knott competed in the U.S. Paralympics Swimming National Championships in 2018 and finished third in the 400-meter Freestyle and fourth in the 100-meter Backstroke, 200-meter Individual Medley, and 100-meter Freestyle. In 2019 Knott was named to her first National Team representing Team USA in Lima, Puru. In April of 2021, Knott competed in the Para World Series Championships in Lewisville, TX, where she was a finalist in all her qualified events.

Recently, Knott represented the Pleasant Prairie Patriots Swim Team at the U.S. Paralympic Swimming Team Trials held at the University of Minnesota from June 17 to June 19. Her placement at the event earned her a spot on the U.S. Paralympics Swim Team. Para Swimming sorts swimmers by classifications ranging 1-14. Keegan is an SB8 (Breaststroke), S9 (freestyle, butterfly, and backstroke), and SM9 (Individual Medley) swimmer. She will represent Team USA at the Summer Paralympic Games, competing in S9 Classification Women's 400-meter Freestyle.

NBC Universal will air a record 1,200 hours of Paralympic coverage from the Tokyo Games, including the first NBC primetime broadcasts in history as part of unprecedented programming for a Paralympic Games. The Tokyo Paralympics run from August 24 to September 5. Toyota will present the coverage, including more than 200 TV hours among NBC, NBCSN, and Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA. Plus debut streaming coverage on Peacock and comprehensive live streaming on NBC Sports digital platforms totaling more than 1,000 hours.

Good Luck Keegan...Millburn is proud of you
