Each week we will celebrate students that were selected by the teacher in recognition for exhibiting good character or leadership qualities. Leadership lives in all of us. It is the choices that we make each day that show others the kind of leader we are. Our students are learning to find the leader in themselves through specially designed lessons in the classroom.

๐ŸŽจ Students Enjoying the Special Areas! ๐ŸŽต

Students participate in several specials throughout the week. In music, some students learned to find a beat and understand the difference between piano (soft) and forte (loud). In art, students were learning to sketch their name in bubble letters. The library/media center offers a place to explore books, expand their digital literacy and learn more about different genres and authors.

The Backpack Program

The Backpack Program is back again this year. This program is sponsored by the Foodbank of the Southern Tier. If your family could benefit from a little extra nutritious food through the weekend, this would be a great program for you to sign up your child for. At the end of the week, starting in October, students that are signed up will receive a bag with 8 food items for the weekend. There is limited space for the backpack program. So please reach out to Mrs. Pimm ASAP if you would like more information or would like the permission slip sent home with your child.

Fire Prevention Week Oct. 9th - Oct. 13th

Education Law of NYS requires that public schools conduct 8 fire drills each school year. We conducted 2 of those drills this week in preparation for additional fire prevention education in the month of October.
