Professional Development & Academic Opportunities
National Park Ranger Program
Temple University and the National Park Service are again recruiting for the ProRanger Program. Through this program are eligible for non-competitive hiring status for a federal position with the National Park Service. As we all know, there are no guarantees in life, but this program boasts a 100% placement rate for students who successfully complete the program.
Students spend their summers in paid internships at national parks across the U.S. from Virgin Islands National Park in St. John to Yosemite National Park in California. Temple students intern in battlefields like Gettsyburg and Antietam; in urban centers like Santa Monica, Boston and Philadelphia; and on seashores and rivers like Fire Island National Seashore, Buffalo National River and Ozark Scenic Riverways. With over 400 units managed by the NPS, there is a park for everyone! You can read about their adventures and view some pretty incredible pictures on their blog.
Wellness Resource Centers is looking for Peer Educators!
The Wellness Resource Center is currently accepting applications for the Spring 2019 cohort of HEART Peer Educators. As a HEART Peer Educator, students receive training via a 3-credit course on a variety of health and wellness topics. Students also develop key leadership and advocacy skills to educate their peers and promote well-being. If you are interested in learning more, or to access the application, click here. Applications are due on Wednesday, September 26, 2018.
Capital Semester Applications are Open!
This comprehensive program includes internship placements in the fields of international affairs and public policy, courses for 12 academic credits through George Mason University, career development activities, site briefings and lectures led by foreign and domestic policy experts, and furnished housing the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington, D.C. Internships are available at some excellent locations including the Peace Corps, Embassies, and the Dept. of Treasury to name a few.

Are you interested in culture? Thrilled by the idea of what's next? Do you want to learn how companies track culture and get ahead of trends? Join us Friday, September 21 to hear “Elements of Culture: Trends, Data and Strategy in a Cultural Consultancy," a talk by Benjamin Grinspan. Grinspan is a cultural strategist with Sparks & Honey, a technology-led cultural consultancy in New York City. He holds a BA from Vassar College, an Master of Science in Strategic Communications from Columbia University, and is originally from Philadelphia.

Diamond Film Screening: MFA Film Showcase - SENIORS ONLY

The Diamond Screen Film Series showcases the best work by up-and-coming filmmakers and media artists in Temple’s program. The annual event highlights the most creative and outstanding student films in various film categories, as well as showcasing the newest works from students in the media arts program. The first presentation of the season, the MFA Thesis Showcase, features films by the incredibly talented students of the Master of Fine Arts program in the School of Theater, Film and Media Arts.
