Student Supply Pick-up - 5/20 & 5/21
We have scheduled two days for student material pick-up. Parents can come to Westfield on Wednesday, May 20th or on Thursday, May 21st from 1:00-6:00 p.m. for curbside pick up.
In an effort to limit your wait time, we are asking that if possible student's with a last name that begins with the letter A-M pick up materials on Wednesday, May 20th and student's with a last name that begins with the letter N-Z pick up materials on Thursday, May 21st.
The pick-up location will take place at the back of the Westfield parking lot near the Park District (or New Gym) entrance. Please see the attached map for further details regarding the pick-up location and vehicle routes.
We are asking that each vehicle display a sign on the passenger side window with each student's Last Name, First Name, and Grade Level, in order to expedite the process. Parents will pull up along the curb and a bag with the student's personal items (medication included, if applicable) will be placed into each vehicle's trunk or rear door if available.
If anyone has symptoms or is not feeling well we ask that you stay home and we will schedule another pick up date in the future.
Staff wearing masks and gloves will help coordinate this curbside pick up and we ask that parents and students wear a mask and gloves as well. If there is a long line please be patient or come back at another time, we have scheduled ten (10) hours over two days for this process to be successful.
If you prefer to Opt-out of the supply pick up and prefer that your child's remaining belongings be donated or discarded, please complete this form.
This is also a time to return District 13 materials such as Library books, textbooks, athletic uniforms and musical instruments. Staff members will collect these items from vehicles at the curb. We are not collecting Chromebooks at this time. 6th and 7th grade students WILL KEEP THEIR CHROMEBOOK for the summer. 8th grade students will be provided details at a later time on the collection of their Chromebooks.

District 13 Remote Learning Plan
As per the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) guidelines, new learning will be provided by teachers in order to minimize the loss of learning due to the school closure. Our main goal continues to be the health and well being of students and families. Please know, that the lessons provided during Remote Learning are recommended, but we understand if students are unable to complete every single assignment or activity.

Remote Learning - Parent FAQ's
Students will receive feedback and a completion grade from their teachers on assignments & activities they complete. Students will also receive either a grade of PASS or NO GRADE at the end of the grading period based on their participation in learning activities. Students must complete a minimum of 50% of the assigned activities in order to receive a grade of PASS. Completion is based on attempts and not on accuracy. Feedback from teachers will relate to accuracy and proficiency, but will not negatively affect a students overall grade as per the ISBE. For students who would like to go beyond the recommended daily classroom activities, additional activities will also continue to be provided by teachers and specialists. We ask that you strongly encourage your student(s) to participate in any and all recommended activities provided by their classroom teachers. We believe it will benefit your child's academic and social-emotional development.
As a reminder, student participation/attendance will be tracked in each classroom in an effort to stay connected with each student. If a student fails to participate, teachers will attempt to contact students and their parents/guardians via email to help problem-solve the situation. If the email correspondence is unsuccessful, our administrative assistant, Mrs. Spejcher, will attempt to contact parents/guardians by phone. As mentioned in Dr. Bartelt's email, the phone number will appear as the District number of 630-893-9590. If at any time, you know your child will not be able to participate, please call Westfield at 630-529-6211 to report an absence for that day, either the evening before or prior to noon on the particular date.
