How to Get the Most Out of this Course
Welcome to the course. On the first day of class my primary concern is that you read the syllabus and purchase the textbook. Also, I would like you to spend some time navigating the website so that you can see all of the components of the course. Don't be alarmed if you see some due dates from last semester. Those dates are in the process of being changed.
In the meantime, please read below to find out how you can get more out of this course. Remember, you are not alone. You have a professor that is here to help you.
Communication is the key. If I don't know you are having a problem and what it is then I won't know how to help you. Send me an email from inside Eagle Online 2.0 with a subject line that matches what you've written in the body of the email.
Some questions just can't be easily answered via email and require interaction between the student and the professor. I am very accessible via cell phone at 832-257-2592. If you don't reach me right away, then just hang up and send me a text message and I'll get back with you. Voice mail takes too long to listen to and is inefficient.
Sometimes, words aren't enough. Students often want to see something explained. If you tell me which problem you are working on or you send me a screen shot I will design a custom video just for you and send you the link via Jing. By the way, if you want to send me a short video with a question you can do that too! Jing is free and is easy to use.
