Lunch Reminders

As a reminder, there is no outside fast food is allowed in the building for students. Save those fast food visits for the evenings and weekends! We also ask that you refrain from putting pop in your child's lunches.

Thank you!

SmartWatch Update

Stratford would like to make you aware of a growing classroom distraction. There is an increased number of students coming to school with smartwatches. We fully understand and support this safety device when your student is unsupervised before or after school. However, these watches also allow students to receive phone calls and text messages during classroom instruction time. Private communication through the smartwatch is distracting to your student and their classmates. All student communication during school hours should be directed to the school office. If you need to contact your student during the day, please call 402-238-2941. The office will deliver the message to your student. We request that student smartwatches be placed on silent mode during the school day. You may find more information in the student parent handbook on technology school use on pages 12-13. Your student’s smartwatch will be prohibited if it becomes a distraction or violates the policy outlined in the handbook.

Spelling Bee Information

Our spelling bee will take place on November 30th. You should have been contacted if your child is participating in the spelling bee. Parents of participants are welcome to attend.

1st-2nd will begin at 8:30

3rd-5th will begin at 9:45

Cold Weather Reminders

Just a reminder to send your children to school with a warm coat, hat and mittens during our arrival and dismissal times. Kids are not let in the building until 7:55 am. Breakfast kids come in at 7:45, but return back outside. With our winter weather (snow) approaching, snow boots and snow pants are a must if snow is present at recess.

Please label all of their belongings. If not labeled, our lost and found grows.

3rd-5th Progress Letters have been posted on Nebsis

Sidewalks are Safest!

As the weather gets colder, we understand that running up the hill gets you home faster, but we ask that student use the sidewalks at all times. Please do not come down or go up the grass hill during arrival and dismissal. Thank you!

Looking for youth sport and activity information?

In the past we have included flyers for youth sporting events, leagues, or other activities in the Bennington area. Those flyers and sign up information will now be housed on the district website under the communication tab. Select community youth activities to find upcoming events. Here is a direct link to that page. https://www.benningtonschools.org/cms/One.aspx?portalId=158238&pageId=1321545

STUDENT ABSENCES/TARDIES

Communication is key. Please be sure you are notifying the office staff by either calling

402-238-2941 or emailing Kwitt@bennps.org, Lwest@bennps.org and your teacher(s) that your child(ren) will be out sick or gone for the day. One email to all of us is perfect.

If you're just running late or your student is coming in after an appointment, we would like to know. We just want to make sure all of our SE students are accounted for.
