NED's Mindset Mission
On Tuesday, Feb 12 we are hosting an assembly for all students, NED's Mindset Mission. Through storytelling, puppetry, and yo-yo tricks, students will learn:
* The Power of Yet – If you’re not good at something, it just means you’re not good at it yet.
* How to spark courage in others.
* How to keep learning and growing, even when they think they already know something.
We are enjoying this assembly at no cost as we are participating in the "Pay It Forward" program -- by selling NED yo-yos, we are paying for the assembly to visit another school at no cost. Why yo-yos? While yo-yoing is cool and simple, it’s not always easy. Everyone who learns to yo will make mistakes along the way. Students are told that if they try yo-yoing, it’s important to learn from mistakes and never give up.
Your child will bring home a flyer this week with more information.
Imagination Fair – Thursday, March 14, 5:30 – 7:00pm
A paper copy of the flyer with detailed information and an application will be sent home with your student next week. To participate, fill out the application and return to your teacher. All projects should be brought to school the morning of March 14. All participants will receive an Outstanding Achievement ribbon. Applications received before March 11 will be entered to win STEM prizes. All grades are invited to participate in both the fair and the new coloring contest.
Breakfast with a Buddy
Please join us Wednesday, February 13, from 8:00 – 8:45 am in the Glen Lake Gym for our Breakfast with a Buddy Event. Invite a Parent, Grandparent, Adult Relative or Mentor to enjoy free cinnamon rolls, caramel rolls, fruit, coffee and juice. This is a great chance to meet new families, say “Hi” to Principal Radel and enjoy a memorable moment before school!
