4 Methods for Medicinal Intake: Have Some Questions for Your Food
It has been said and understood that our food should be our medicine and our medicine our food. We do indeed become a sum total of what we consume (that also applies to our thought life - from stinkin' thinkin' to thriving altitudes). Having said that, let's take a quick look at 4 methods that help fight off the bad stuff (carcinogens, risk factors for heart disease, inflammation, LDL cholesterol, free radicals, fat storage, etc.).
- Focus on categories instead of calories. Even if you are consuming the correct amount of calories per day, that doesn't mean they are coming from the best sources. Make your calories count instead of concentrating on counting your calories. 5 solid categories to focus on include: water, fruits, veggies, lean proteins and whole grains.
- Focus on one meal at a time. Let's not get too overwhelmed with our food choices. It can be a daunting task thinking about meal planning and creating the right combinations. So, let's take it one meal at a time. Tupperware is a good thing and pre-planning is great! However, the important thing to note is put your mind to the plate that is front of you. What is on it and what does it consist of? Practice being in the present. Your current concentration will provide lifestyle awareness for you. Over the long haul you will be able to haul less :) You change your physique and eating habits one meal at a time.
- Have questions for your food. How about that for food for thought? Many associates around here are masters at interviewing. Now let's get savvy at interviewing our food! Ask your food, "Are you are going to help or hurt". You may not want to do this out loud, but then again around here with this rich wellness culture, no one will judge you. "How are you going to effect me", "What can you bring to my table", "How natural are you?", "Will you give me energy", "Am I going to regret eating or drinking you", "Do we need to break up?", "How am i going to feel an hour after we hang out", etc.
- Make the mental switch: Eat to live instead of living to eat. There is a big difference in eating and drinking whatever you feel like when you feel it, and eating only to fuel your body. When you think about it, both scenarios require active forethought and decision making. Therefore, why not apply that mindful energy to what can fuel you and fight for you!

We all know Joe really does know. As a matter he has counted to infinity - twice, and he is reason why Waldo is hiding.
Joe allows his food to fight for him with every meal. He fuels up daily with quality proteins, veggies, fruit and water. He gets half his body weight in ounces of water every day. He eats protein with every meal, that way he fuels his system continually. He considers his calories little soldiers that are going in, fighting for health and longevity!
Joe continues to knock out the foods that inflame and kicks out temptation way before it becomes a negative habit!
