Cougar Connect
Principal Message August 18th, 2022
Kennedy Families,
We are off to a roaring start. It has been a fun first two days, welcoming all our students back for the 2022-23 school year. Families thank you for assisting during drop-off pick-up, and communicating with us, it has really helped make the first two days go well.
This will be my first of my weekly communications that I will hopefully be getting to you Thursday nights. The “ Cougar Connect” is meant to give you the most up to date school information and share with future school events and student activities.
Student Schedules:
Administration has been working hard to accommodate schedule changes but please note that not all schedule requests will be granted due to availability and scheduling constraints. Schedules lock on the tenth day of school.
Student Planners:
All students received their planners on Thursday during Homeroom. (Homeroom is every Thursday from 8:30am -9:00am) Students will be instructed on the proper use of the planner by their teachers as it will be something we want them to use throughout the year.
Culture Assemblies:
The Kennedy administration will be leading “Culture Assemblies” with each grade level each month. These assemblies are meant to review upcoming events, review expectations (academic and behavioral) as well as promote school climate initiatives. Below are the assemblies scheduled for August.
Friday August 19th 6th Grade
Monday August 22nd 7th Grade
Thursday August 25th 8th Grade
Water Bottles
Kennedy has water filling stations available for students please encourage students bring their bottles.
COVID-19
Is still a concern for our staff, students and families. We continue to recommend but not require students to wear masks. If a student is positive parents should complete the districts
self-reporting form and inform the Kennedy office. This form is available on the “Quick Links” section of the RCSD website as well as all 12 school websites.
Also if your student is sick or showing COVID-19 symptoms please keep the student home and get them tested.
Let's have a good school year everyone
Go Cougars,
