Description
The Carbon group is in the 14th row of the periodic table. They are all solid at room temperature. They all have 4 valence electrons. The reactivity varies among the certain elements. Tin is used as fake steel sometimes because it is more reactive. Metalloids such as silicon and germanium are used to make computer chips. Carbon also forms a wide variety of compounds. Some of them, like proteins, fats, and carbohydrates, are a necessity for living things on earth.
