Counselor Connection
May 26, 2023
SAVE THE DATE! Current Junior/Sophomore Parents:
Eagan High School is hosting a College Panel comprised of 6-8 college admission representatives. We are hoping to have eight colleges attend this event. They will be discussing and answering questions regarding all aspects of the admissions process.
Monday, August 28th from 5:30- 6:30 PM.
Lecture Room C
Potential College Reps:
Iowa State, St. Olaf, North Dakota State University, WI Eau Claire, Macalester Winona State, University of MN- Twin Cities
You will not want to miss this event!
Parents of Seniors Attending Post-Secondary Institutions:
Most 2 year and 4 year colleges require a FINAL transcript to be mailed to the college once grades for T3 of senior year have been posted. This transcript can be ordered NOW so that it is not forgotten in the busy upcoming weeks/months at the Parchment Website. Once logged in, students will need to confirm the destination and delivery details then students choose send now or hold for grades. Selecting hold for grades means the transcript is sent out as soon as grades are posted for T3.
Submit AP test scores to the college- must be ordered from College Board if not listed during AP test registration.
Submit final college transcript if the student took college classes (CIS classes through the U of MN or PSEO classes). These transcripts are ordered through the College itself.
Attention Juniors:
Summer is a great time to work on post-secondary planning. As a reminder, here is a list of tasks you could choose to work on this summer: Rising Senior Summer To Do List.
Naviance Student is your best resource for college and career planning. Here is the link to the a helpful video: College and Career Planning with Naviance Student Video.
Counselors will not be available this summer, but we look forward to working with you next year as you continue to develop and finalize your post-high school plans. Watch for your senior credit letter to arrive in the mail before school starts. It will include information about your senior small group meeting with your counselor in September.

Parents of Juniors and Sophomores: Raise.Me Scholarships
With Raise.me, students can guarantee scholarships from 200+ colleges as early as 9th grade, making it easier to plan financially for school. Raise.me has proven to be a great tool to motivate students in high schools throughout the U.S., as the site immediately rewards students with scholarships for their hard work in and outside of high school. As an example: ● Get an A in a course ($100 - $1,000) ● Get a B in a course ($50 - $600) ● Participate in a school club or sport ($25 - $250) ● And much more! These bite-sized scholarships are called “Micro-Scholarships”. When students add achievements to their Portfolio on Raise.me, they could be eligible to earn Micro-Scholarships towards our partner colleges.
1) Ensure that your student creates an account at www.raise.me. 2) Encourage your student to regularly add good grades, community service, extracurricular activities, and other achievements to his or her raise.me “Portfolio” to earn “Micro-Scholarships” from colleges. 3) Visit: https://www.raise.me for more information. Local schools include: University of St. Thomas, Gustavus, UMD, Luther, University of Northern Iowa, University of Iowa, University of Wisconsin- Stout, and more!
