Update on Coronavirus

Dear District 103 Community,

We have received concerns regarding the coronavirus and a family that has recently returned from China. We have been in contact with the family and their situation. The family was not in an infected area, and took extreme care to ensure they were not exposed to the virus while abroad. The family was screened on their return trip and were cleared as showing no signs of illness. The CDC, Illinois Department of Health, and the Lake County Health Department continue to state that students should not be excluded from school unless they are exhibiting signs of illness. Because of this, we will not exclude children who are not ill.

Some families may still feel concern regarding the coronavirus situation. If you choose to keep your child at home during this time, we will count the absence as excused. Please notify your school office if you choose to keep your child at home.

We continue to closely monitor the coronavirus situation and will keep you updated should circumstances change.

Thank you for your care and concern during this time.

Sincerely,

Scott Warren, Ed.D
