REMINDER: Change in Afterschool Pick-Up Procedure

Starting this week, all students being picked up by car or walk-ups will be dismissed from the playground door. (This change does not affect morning drop-off.)

NWEA Testing Window

The Beginning of Year (BOY) NWEA testing window is September 19 to October 4, 2022.

Grades 3-8 will take the Reading Assessment.

Grades 1-8 will take the Math Assessment.

Grade K-3 parents will go classrooms while Grade 4-8 parents remain in the cafeteria to meet and talk with Arts Specialists, Support Staff and PTA members.

7:30 pm

Grade 4-8 parents go to classrooms. Grade K-3 parents may use this time to meet and talk with Arts Specialists, Support Staff and PTA members.

8:00 pm

Our evening's activities conclude.

Concord Magnet School Family Picnic is this Sunday, September 18, 1:30-3:30pm!

Pack your picnic basket, bring a blanket and chairs and have a fun-filled day with other CMS families in our school backyard! Entertainment includes a magician and and balloon artist!

Filling In The Blanks

Filling in the Blanks is a local non-profit agency located in Norwalk that provides nutritious meals and snacks to school-aged children on the weekends free of charge. The goal of the Filling in the Blanks Program is to help children thrive in school by offering additional nutrition on the weekends.

A sample bag of food may include: Breakfast items (cereal, oatmeal packets, pancake mix), Snacks (Goldfish, fruit cup, apple sauce, granola bar), Individual-sized cartons of shelf-stable milk, canned vegetables or rice and beans
Combination of two items: Tuna, Soup, Mac & Cheese or Spaghetti and Sauce.

If you believe your child would benefit from this program, we encourage you to sign them up by filling out the registration form at the link below. Your information is kept private, Filling in the Blanks is not affiliated with any government agency and will only share limited information to the school your child is attending to ensure they receive their weekend food.

PTA Meeting

The first general CMS PTA meeting will be Tuesday, September 27 at 7:00 pm at CMS. Look for a meeting agenda next week.

Parent Volunteers Needed!

The CMS PTA is looking to rebuild our PTA committees this year and lots and lots of help is needed! Our PTA has a pretty packed schedule of activities planned this year and volunteers are needed to help chair these activities and the fundraisers that support these events as well as field trips and enrichment.
