This is a trait that leaders have who know what they are doing. They can lead by example and help others, relaying their skills and knowledge to others, they know the people working under them. With this trait a leader will also know how to use the necessary equipment and skills for a task. A good leader will also admit when they don't have the knowledge necessary.

Barack Obama exemplifies the leadership trait of knowledge as he is a graduate of Harvard Law school, he also taught Constitutional Law at University of Chicago. Being the President, requires many briefings and extensive knowledge of government and policy.

A teacher is someone who exemplifies the knowledge trait, they are what students have to look up to for subjects. One of the important descriptors of the trait is that the leader will translate their knowledge onto the people who they lead, this is what a teacher does.

Elon Musk is an industry leader inventor and engineer, without knowledge he would never be where he is today, a multi billionaire. Through his knowledge and skills acquired he started the companies Space x, Tesla, Solar City, Pay Pal, and several more. Without his knowledge skills in his field he and his companies would never have pioneered the technologies they did.
