Attendance Wars
Your child's attendance matters everyday because learning takes place daily. Please make sure your child is in school by 7:50 am to avoid schedule interruptions. Our Explorers love starting on time with their classmates.
The friendly competition continues between our grade levels. The grade level with the highest attendance at the end of each grading period wins an incentive! Everyday matters and it's important to remember when your child is not in school he or she is missing learning experiences.
If a student is out sick a note must be provided the next day for documentation. After a student has been absent for more than 3 days a note from the doctor will only be accepted. The campus daily attendance goal is 96%. Let's make this happen by making sure the students are in school everyday.
AR Reading
We are encouraging our students to read nightly at home to attain their six week's AR Goal every grading period. Studies show students who read more increase their comprehension and critical thinking skills! Have you asked your child in grades 1st-5th grade what their AR Goal is for the grading period? If not do so today, this will definitely spark motivation because mom, dad, or family member are inquiring about it. We wish our students the best in everything that you do to excel!
Thank you for all the support and cooperation.
Your Proud Principal,
Diana S. Ybarra
