New Dismissal Procedures for 2018
We began using School Dismissal Manager on Monday, January 8, 2018. All parents and guardians, that have an email listed in skyward, should have received an email from Hoosier Road Elementary with your username, a temporary password, and instructions to set up your student's dismissal plans. Please call the school at 317-915-4240 if you did not receive this email. It is very important that all of our families login and set their child's default. Due to the cancellation on January 12th, we have extended the deadline through Wednesday, January 17th at 2:30pm. If you need any assistance, please call or stop by the office.
Please note: This is for end-of-day transportation changes only, including car-riders, YMCA, bus riders and after school activities. It is not to be used for requesting an early dismissal for your child(ren) for doctor's appointments, etc. or for reporting absent or tardy students.
If you would like to watch a short video on how to use dismissal manager, please click on the following link.

Be Prepared for School Closings and Weather Delays This Winter
The doors to the school will be locked so please do not drop off your children and drive away!! Students will be admitted into the building at 10:45 AM. School will begin at 10:55 AM. No lunch visitors will be allowed on delay days due to an altered schedule.
In cases of extreme weather conditions, the Superintendent of HSE Schools will call a weather day and close all HSE schools. Again, parents will be notified via Skylert and closings will be announced on social media and by local TV stations.
Remember that HSE bus service will run on all school days. We encourage you to have your child ride the provided bus transportation to school so as not to be late -- tardiness due to weather is not excused. If your child attends the Y before/after care, the Y will be open as usual on delay days but will be closed on cancellation days.
Outdoor Recess Happens Year-Round! Remember - please dress your child for the weather
PTO's Dance-a-Thon
This year we are doing something a little different: instead of a Walk-a-Thon, we are hosting a Dance-a-Thon on Friday, January 26 to fundraise for our STEM Program. We are hoping to purchase new robotics equipment and furniture to have in the STEM Lab this school year. Please assist us by helping your child raise donations.
Goal: Raise $12,500
When: Friday, January 26, 2018
Where: HRE Gym
Why: Raise Funds for STEM Program
Follow these simple steps for success:
1. Register your child by visiting www.thegetmovincrew.com and go to “Get Registered Parent Login”. Register by Wednesday, January 17 and your child will receive an emoji backpack clip.
2. Fundraising will take place January 5-February 2
3. Friends and Family want to help your child be successful. Use the student fundraising page to promote online donations.
4. Reach Pledge Superstar status by getting $50 or more in donations.
The easiest way to donate is online, but donations in the form of cash or check can be turned into the school also. Please make checks payable to Hoosier Road PTO.
Please see the papers that came home with students for more information and for our fun, school-wide incentives to reach fundraising bench marks.
Thank you for your support!
