She was a pacifist and the British sometimes had meetings in her house, that day a British person came to her house and said that they wanted to have a meeting there that night and that her and her family should go to bed early so they can talk in peace. because of her curiosity she couldn't sleep and went to the door of the room in which they were in and overheard that they were going to attack the American army on Dec. 4 so she had to tell Washington.
