Simon Birch
His character is bold. Simon doesn't care what people think of him. He is a round character.
People do not look at Simon as a normal person. They make fun of him and don't like him because he is different. He isn't like the other boys so people just treat him like he isn't a person at all.
Theme
God has a plan for all of us no matter what happens.
Simon believed this because even though things happen ( him being born with a disease that stunts his growth) he believed there was a purpose for him. Being how he is, a very short small boy he could make a big impact on other people.

Joe found out that his father is the reverend. He did not take it to well. Joe was very upset and confused. He wanted to know why his mom didn't tell him. Joe thought his dad would be this wonderful person that would be so perfect but he didn't even like the reverend.
The bus
All of the kids where coming home from the retreat and the bus swerved a deer and drove into the river. All of the children where screaming, crying, and freaking out. The bus driver was all for himself so he saved his own life and left the children behind, so Simon and Joe took over and started to get the kids out to the land where it was safe. There was one kid left but the door got stuck so Simon made his way to the window to help the child out. He made it safely out, but for Simon it was to late. The bus had already gone under the water. Simon somehow made his way up to the surface of the water.
