GOODNESS GROWS...a place to Create. Cultivate. Thrive.
What We Do:
We are a 501(c)3 non-profit that uses horticulture and related activities to facilitate positive changes in the lives of people living with disabilities or health needs that could benefit from social or therapeutic gardening. We work with area schools, educational programs, volunteers, and church groups. We are a work site for mission trips and volunteer days, where participants can be involved in a variety of indoor and outdoor hands-on projects.
Goodness Grows is licensed through the state of Ohio as a Department of Developmental Disabilities provider. We provide daily programming - vocational habilitation - for adults with disabilities. Our clients receive training in a wide array of life skills, such as cooking, baking, laundry, cleaning, gardening, and much more.
Why Friendsgiving?
Friendsgiving is a benefit to all involved. Guests get to visit with friends, enjoy music, wine, and food, and relax before the festivities of Thanksgiving. Diletto's gets to introduce new people to their wonderful wines and enjoy visiting with regular customers. We get to tell people about what we do, sell our jams, catnip toys, and reindeer food, and benefit from the proceeds of the evening. So, it is a win-win-win for all!
Ways YOU Can Help:
1) Donate a raffle basket!
One way money will be raised is through the ever-popular basket raffle. Guests will be able to buy tickets to try and win a variety of baskets. We are looking for individuals, organizations, and businesses to assist us by donating a raffle basket. Big or small, all baskets will be appreciated. Make it a family project to create a basket. Promote your business. Advertise your organization. We will publicize all basket donations on our website and Facebook page.
2) Bake a pie!
You might be baking for Thanksgiving anyway, what's one more flaky, delicious pastry creation? And, what says Thanksgiving/harvest time/Friendsgiving more than a fresh baked pie??? To go along with our evening of good friends, good music, and good wine, we need good pie! We will be selling pie slices and all proceeds from the sales will be put right back into our work at Goodness Grows. If you would like to donate a pie, we will gladly serve it!
3) Spread the Word!
Do you know someone who might enjoy donating a raffle basket? Aware of a small business looking for a way to promote what they do by donating? Know someone who loves to bake? Can you think of someone who would like a relaxing evening out the night before Thanksgiving? Please help us get the word out to all of them! Invite them to donate and to attend. Word of mouth, or sharing this email, helps more than you know!
4) Attend!
Mark your calendar for November 27, from 6-9pm, and come join the fun! Eat some pie, buy some raffle tickets, try some of Diletto's wine and food, enjoy the live music, and start your Christmas shopping early with our Jungle Jam, Juicy Jam, and crafts. We would truly love to see you there!!
Your contributions make it possible for people of all abilities to grow with us.
Your donations to Goodness Grows are tax-deductible, to the extent allowed by law.
