St. Columba's Primary School

O God of truth and justice, we hold before you those whose memory we cherish,

and those whose names we will never know.

Help us to lift our eyes above the torment of this broken world,

and grant us the grace to pray for those who wish us harm.

As we honour the past, may we put our faith in your future;

for you are the source of life and hope, now and for ever.

From the Principal

Dear St Columba’s school community

Today is Remembrance Day; thank you Year 5 for the beautiful assembly.

Our Annual General Meeting was held last night. We thank the outgoing P&F Executive - Lara Tulett (President), Larissa Barnao (Vice President), Sarah Mann (Treasurer) and Louise Deshon (Secretary) - for all their hard work and dedication to enhancing the wonderful community spirit at St Columba’s. Hayley Mitchell was elected P&F President for 2022 and we are seeking parents to join Hayley on the P&F Executive. The School Advisory Council, led by Natalie Low, has been busy behind the scenes working through the School’s Strategic Plan. We thank outgoing members for their invaluable support: Natalie Low (Chair), Jose Flores and Talia Huxtable for their years of service. Our School Advisory Council for 2022 includes Phil Horner (Chair), Esmeralda Soliani and Hayley Roseby.

We extend a very warm welcome to new Assistant Principal, Jesse Yock. Jesse has been at school for the past couple of days, meeting staff and getting to know the students. Over at Kindy, the children were able to offer him some navigational advice in the kindy boat!

School fees are now over due; please make payment as soon as possible.

Our Year 3 students are celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation over the weekend; please keep them in your prayers.

God Bless

Rebecca Clarke

Christmas Fair News

To make this a huge success I need all of you to help spread the word. Please follow, like and share our Fair Instagram and Facebook.

St. Columba’s Christmas Fair | Facebook

St Columba’s P&F (@st._columbas_christmas_fair) • Instagram photos and videos

MAIL DROP: Mail drop pamphlets are on the office desk with a map of the surrounding suburbs. If you can spare some time please grab some pamphlets and highlight the streets you will cover so that we don't double up.

We also have posters that we need spread throughout the community. If you have a business, sport club or community noticeboard that you could put a poster on, please stop by the office and grab a poster.

Finally, let all your family and friends know that we would love to have them join us on the day. With a fabulous boutique market space, fair rides, games, cuddly animals, ponies, food trucks and a licenced bar overlooking the Swan River, we have something for everyone!

Avoid the queues and buy your kids fairground wrist bands and St. Columba's money books early.

  • Wrist bands and money books will be sold outside the library before and after school Monday - Thursday next week
  • $35/Wrist band: Unlimited fair ground rides, cuddly farm entry and pony rides.
  • $25 Junior Wrist Band: Unlimited access to the five junior rides (Ponies, Farm Animals, Ferris Wheel, Turbo Tubs and Bouncy Castle)
  • $20 Money Book: To help all of us "cashless" types, we have designed our very own St Columba's currency, featuring some of our favourite St. Columba's faces. You will be able to use our credit facilities to purchase a book of St. Columba's money which will be valid at all St. Columba's run stalls, rides and games at the fair, making it easier for you to have a great day and enjoy all we have on offer. Books of money will be sold next week along with the wrist bands.

Thank you to all of you who have signed up to help on the day. We still need a number of helpers for set up and pack down. I'd appreciate you giving me an hour or two of your time to help make the day a success. Click on link below.

Thank you for all of the books that have been donated. We have all we need now

We are still collecting toys and would also welcome all donations of plants. Plants will be collected the week before the fair (stay tuned for details).

So close now! I hope the kids are getting excited.
