News and Notes

Dear Parents,

Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Don't forget that Monday, January 18th is Martin Luther King Jr. Day and we have no school.

Our MAP testing has started this week in grades 4-8 and we will continue with grades K-3 next week. So far, it has been off to a good start, except for a few hiccups with our remote learners. Schedules and a device readiness check will be sent to all remote learners.

Catholic Schools Week begins Sunday, January 31st. Although, as with everything, it will look a little different this year, we are excited to celebrate Catholic Schools and what makes Transfiguration School so special.

Applications for new students for the 21-22 school year is now open. This includes ALL incoming Kindergarten students, even if your child is here for PK4. Please share this information with any family and friends who are thinking of attending our school. To apply to our school, click on the following link: https://mytads.com/a/transfigurationschooltarrytown.

This year, as in the past, we will have our Parent Referral program, which provides a $250 tuition discount to enrolled families who refer new families to our schools. On almost every application, it is noted that they heard about our school through a family or friend. Thank you so much for spreading the word. Please let us know if you have referred a family for this year or last year. Send Mrs. Slater an email with your name and the name of the family you referred as well as the school year for which you referred them. This way she can she can ensure you receive your $250 tuition discount.

Looking ahead... we will be holding our "SOUPer Bowl" Food Drive for St. Vincent de Paul Society, January 25 through February 5 in the School Lobby. Our team goal is to collect 250 Canned Goods and 100 Boxes of Cereal! More info to follow.

Thank you and have a wonderful week!

Advent Prayers for Soyapango

Thank you so much for your support of our Prayers for Soyapango project. We raised over $500!! You all amaze me time and time again with you generosity! I want to especially thank Mrs. Mueller for planning and organizing this project. When she sent the final project over to the Soyapango Twinning committee, they were amazed by your children! They said "I just looked at each of the prayer sheets and am so impressed with the messages as well as the artistic ability shown in the coloring. . . The amount collected for the ‘Dress Down Fundraiser’ is unbelievable."
