Updates and Celebrations!
Reynolds Families,
I hope the start to the 2023-2024 school year has gone well. It has been great to see students return to the building and to welcome in all of our 9th grade students. Over these last few weeks, the transition to block schedule and 90 minute class periods has been going well. Students have more time in class each day, longer transition time between classes, and can prioritize studying between days. Teachers report having more time to work with students one-on-one and have been able to give more time in class for work.
It was wonderful to see so many families at this year’s Back to School Night on September 26th. Families were able to meet teachers, visit classrooms, and take a tour of the school. If you were not able to join us for Back to School Night, please look for our next opportunity to visit the school coming in November with Family Conferences.
As a school community we will focus on attendance throughout this school year. Daily attendance is key to student success and supporting students after absences is an important part for all teachers and support staff at Reynolds. So far this year, our average regular attendance rate is up more than 15% from this time last year. That is a testament to our students and their dedication.
October is host to a variety of great events and activities. Please look to the additional articles below for information about our vast array of community partners and after school activities, information about homecoming week, the upcoming Fall Production, information about athletics, and much more.

A message from our Athletic Director
Fall sports are off to a great start, Raiders! We are seeing increased participation numbers across the board. Our student-athletes are dedicated and committed to the work at hand. It is no small feat to juggle the rigors of academics and the demand of athletics. Each of our athletes should be commended, and I am truly honored to be working alongside them. This does not happen alone; without your help and dedication, Reynolds High School and its athletic programs would not be where they are at today. Your support is unmatched, and we appreciate and value your commitment.
Although there are so many positives, too many to mention, we still have much work to do. Interscholastic athletic competition is very special in that every contest offers our student-athletes opportunities to experience success and failure, regardless of the final score. In addition to learning the value of dedication, teamwork, preparation, and sportsmanship, we expect our student-athletes to win with humility, lose with grace, and do both with dignity. We are very fortunate that our coaches embrace this commitment of teaching these life-lessons through competition.
As spectators, you play an essential role because your support and encouragement help motivate our student-athletes to perform at their very best. If you are a member of our student-body, please show your school spirit in a positive manner. If you are an adult fan, we ask that you model the same respectful behavior that we expect from our students.
I am very honored and privileged to be serving as the Athletic Director at Reynolds High School and I’m so very thankful to be part of such a great school and community. Thank you so much for helping us with what is going to be another great, exciting, and successful year for Raider Athletics.
