Crestwood Intermediate Newsletter

Hello CIS Families and Students!
We are currently working on our grade level videos that we will be sharing to all of you in the coming weeks in regards to information about what next year will look like for each grade and the building. We have students and teachers involved and I think it will be very helpful to help relieve some nervousness about next year.
Starting this Friday we will be keeping all student issued Chromebook in their assigned homeroom with their cases and chargers as we are getting ready for the end of the year. This means that students will not be able to take Chromebooks home for the rest of the year starting Friday. Teachers are making sure all work will be done in in the classroom if it requires Chromebook technology.
We are collecting the Chromebook and materials back so they can get updated over the summer. This will allow the district technology department to assess the inventory and look over each Chromebook to determine whether they can be used the following year. This is a timely process so this is why we are asking for all students to return their Chromebook to their homerooms by Friday.
If you have any questions please ask your child's homeroom teacher or the main office.
We are happy to say we will be having Field Day this year and thank you to Mrs. Thigpen for all her planning! Field Day will be June 3rd. More details will be coming.
Enjoy the rest of the week!
Mr. Griffis and CIS Staff

SPRING BOOST 2021:
- This program is for selected students and will help those students with reading interventions that can occur before or after school. The main office has reached out to the student families to discuss the program and plan.
- We are in the process collaborating with community partnerships and teachers to create a plan that will include additional learning opportunities for students that are showing learning gaps and create needed support for students that are at-risk.
- The summer program will consist of three weeks after school ends for the summer then another two weeks before school resumes in the fall 2021.
- The lessons will focus on Math and ELA and incorporate a PBL/Inquiry model with IXL implementation.
- The criteria for selecting students will be similar to the spring boost program and we will have two teachers at each grade level.
