While drafting our Realistic Fiction Narrative, we started focusing on correctly adding dialogue to our stories. Also, students are making sure to add action, thoughts, and feelings when writing dialogue. Lastly, we focused on how to end our stories in a meaningful way.
Day- students can revise their Refugee Summatives. Expectations posted in Classroom.
If you would like to support our classroom library, please visit our class Amazon Wish List (Day) or Amazon Wish List (Goosen). Thank you for your support!
Science: Mr. Geringer & Mrs. Oliver
Students learned how Earth’s tilted axis and revolution around the sun cause us to experience different amounts of direct and indirect light throughout the year, which leads to seasons on Earth. We will finish up our study of seasons with a focus on how the sun’s position in the sky throughout the year leads to changes in the angle of light and shadows.
The assessment for Space Systems Goals 5 and 6 (eclipses and seasons) will take place on Thursday of next week. Study guides are available in Classroom.
Social Studies: Mrs. Goosen & Mr. Landolt
Students finished the geography unit by presenting research they conducted on one of the civilizations we have studied. They also spent the week looking at current events in geography and climate and determining how that may affect the land.
Next week we are finishing the geography unit with a summative assessment and will jump into learning about the major religions of the world.
