How is Hepatitis B(HBV) transmitted?

HBV is transmitted when blood, semen, and other body fluids infected with the HBV virus enters the body of a person who is not infected.

What do you do if you get HBV?

Make sure you tell your partner if you have the HBV virus. Be careful when getting tattoos and any body piercings. Make sure you condoms even though these are not 100% proof of the virus.

How does HBV affect the health of an unborn baby and mother?

HBV can be transmitted from infected mothers to infants at the time of birth or from family member to infant in early childhood.
