Did you know that earth Day was first celebrated in 1970? Well now you do! About 20 million people celebrated the first Earth Day in history because they care for our Earth. In 1903, President Roosevelt created a Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge in Florida, which was the first one in Florida.

Ways to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!
If you want to save the Earth these are some ways you can use the Three R's (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). If you want to reduce, you can turn off the light when you exit a room. Another way is to turn on the dishwasher ONLY when it is full to conserve water. To reuse, you can use the extra scrap paper so you don't waste paper. You can also have a yard sale so you don't just throw out your old toys and clothes. Lastly and most importantly, is Recycling. You can recycle just about anything. Some things are paper,clothes, toys, and water. Those are some ways you can use the Three R's on Earth Day!
Interesting Facts about Pollution
Pollution is very bad for our Earth. There are many types of pollutants such as air and water pollutants. We will talk about water pollutants in the ocean (water). 40% of the ocean is polluted. That is very bad for our Earth. Billions of tons of carbon-dioxide are emitted into the ocean every year! It makes our ocean warmer and kills some fish and coral.
