Start With Hello Week
Next week will begin “Start with Hello” week. If you remember from last year, start with hello is a program that helps kids make a difference in a simple and fun way by encouraging them to take actions to promote friendships and to help others who are showing signs of social isolation.
Social isolation is the overwhelming feeling of being left out or lonely. Young people who feel this way may struggle with learning and making friends or choose to hurt themselves or others. By participating in Start with Hello week, you are helping to bring attention to social isolation and empowering your students to create a culture of inclusion and connectedness.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
Friday morning I learned that my little niece Naomi was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. I certainly appreciate the hugs and prayers from those of you who ran into me Friday morning before school. She is handling chemotherapy well and will go home from All Children's Thursday. The other good news is that the cancer isolated and has not spread. She has been a fighter from the day she was born at 26 weeks. Please keep her and our family in your prayers.Lakeview Fundamental Elementary School
