WHAT A WONDERFUL SAFE RETURN TO SCHOOL!

Big picture
Big picture
We are bursting with appreciation over the star effort of our faculty and staff today! It was so good to be BACK IN SCHOOL! If you agree, please reach out and let them know -- an email, a little note, etc.

This was a challenge that many other schools struggled to accomplish. It is a challenge gladly accepted by our faculty and staff. Our teachers have been asked to teach in two rooms and virtually at the same time. No one signed up for this "new normal"; but all have risen to the tremendous task simply because they LOVE teaching your child. Each day this week was a better day filled with God's presence and grace. We truly appreciate your patience and support as we navigate these unchartered times.

Our first week ended with a police parade for a first grade student who lost her mother, Crystal Sanchez, to cancer at the beginning of the month. It was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. We are truly blessed, back by blue, and love our SVS blue and gold!

You are not alone, I am here with you. Hebrews 13:5

Thank you PTO for a Boo Hoo Breakfast To-Go!

While we were sad we can’t hold our annual Boo Hoo Breakfast in the Parish Center, the PTO Board turned on creatively and welcomed our families back to school with a Boo Hoo Breakfast To-Go! We hope you enjoyed!

Please reach out to Jenaya Lisowski, PTO President at pto@stviator.org if you are able to assist this year in creatively reinventing our annual events.

Campus Procedures

Thank you for your patience as we continue to focus on staying well and staying in school! Each teacher went through the protocols necessary with students for our safe return and they are practicing regularly throughout the school day. The students are getting used to the new protocols and we appreciate your support!

Staggered Dismissal Continued Until Further Notice

Thank you for your patience as we get use to our "new normal". Now that we have transitioned to full days, we will be dismissing at the following times:

2:25: PK & K

2:30: 8th and 5th

2:34: 6th

2:38: 7th

2:42: 3rd and 1st

2:45 2nd and 4th

These new times worked very well on Thursday and Friday and we will keep in place until further notice.

Once you arrive on campus, please stay in your car until the designated time. Pick up your first child, then proceed directly to the next classroom. Continue to wear face coverings and exit promptly.

Update on Field Trips...

Schools are an essential part of the infrastructure of communities, as they provide safe, supportive learning environments for students, employ teachers and other staff, and enable parents, guardians, and caregivers to go to work. Until further notice, the Diocese has postponed all out of state, overnight, retreats and school field trips, including scouts. The objective is to keep students in their cohort group, socially distanced and minimize the level of community transmission. Thus, we are in the process of renegotiating with Pali Mountain and we are working on providing partial refunds to those students scheduled to go in October.

We have been given permission to plan the end of the year field trips; however, we may need to reconsider in the Spring upon further guidance of the Bishop Restoration Advisory Council. Mrs. Daly reminded all families should consider purchasing travel insurance. Deposits are non-refundable.

From our Counselor...

Right Now, I AM FINE, by Daniela Owen

Read by our school counselor for our school children....

This book is a mindfully written self-help guide to aid children in dealing with stress and anxiety, by uncovering their emotions and following a simple calming routine. Teachers are watching in class; but you might want to watch with them to discuss their feelings as students return to a "new normal"

We are looking forward to next week!
